I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from The Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth-Psalms 121:1-2

When it all began...

Life on a red dirt road began for Martin on October 17, 1980, the day he was born. For me it began on July 17, 2004, the day we were married. Although it's a bit dusty, it's full of blessings.

Growing and Going: 7 months old

I'm 7 months old now and a lot has happened in one month!

I can crawl! My Mommy and Daddy decided to go out of town for one night for their anniversary, they weren't gone two hours and I decided that I could chase my Memaw's cat. (7/16/11)

This crawling thing is great for me, and my Mommy and Daddy even chase me around. It's so funny. They say "No,No" all the time, but I'm not sure what that means.

I can pull up now too!

But sometimes I fall down, and that makes me mad!

I got my first tooth!! Boy has that been rough. It's just barely poking through the skin so mommy hasn't got a picture of it yet.

I like to blow spit bubbles. I can even mimic you if you do it.

I like to make my "funny face."

I like to put everything in my mouth!

I like to drink water from a straw.

I like to go swimming. (*if the water is warm)

I love my best friend Bryar!

Even if he does steal my toys and my pacifier!

I don't like homemade baby food! My mommy worked so hard but right now, I'd rather have the stuff in the jar. She's still making it and trying to force me to eat it!

And I don't like to hold my own bottle. Mommy's trying to make me, but I'm not having it!

I'm still wearing 3-6 month clothing and I've decided I don't like bows on my head. Mommy puts them on me, and I take them off.

I'm still "Sugar-booger", along with "Tooty Fruity," "Mama's girl," "Daddy's girl," "Grammy's girl", and "Sugar Baby." They call me everything but my name!

Last night I slept in my own room for the first time!(Pictures of room to come)I did great, Mommy not so much.

This is my last week at home with Mommy, :( She goes back to work on Friday. Boo Hoo Hoo. We'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Dear Sweet Aubrey Page,

You bless mine and Daddy's heart everyday. You make us smile and we can't get enough hugs, and kisses. Your sweet smile lights up the room, and you charm everyone you meet. It was hard to let you sleep in your own room last night, Daddy wasn't worried but I was. I'm broken hearted that my summer vacation with you is almost over. I've loved being a "stay at home" mommy.

Daddy and I pray for you everyday. We pray for your health, we pray for the path you will take, but most of all we pray that you will trust The Lord for your salvation. We pray that we can show you the love Jesus has for you and how he came and died on the cross for our sins so that we might believe in him and live with him in heaven. It's hard for me to think of you my sweet little baby as being born a sinner, but the Bible says "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God," Romans 3:23. Because of our sin, we don't deserve heaven. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our lord," Romans 6:23. But Jesus paid the way. "For God so loved the World, he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life," John 3:16.
Aubrey we pray that when you are old enough to understand, you will believe.

We love you and can't wait to watch you grow.
Love,
Mommy & Daddy

BFF's

Aubrey loves Sadie.

Sadie loves Aubrey.

Our kind and gentle first baby Sadie has welcomed our sweet Baby Aubrey into our "Pack." Although she may be a bit jealous of all the hugs and kisses Aubrey gets and of how Aubrey gets to lay in the middle of the bed between Mama and Daddy, I could not of asked for a better companion for Aubrey.

Sadie has become a constant source of entertainment for Aubrey, and her favortie playmate.

She gets run over by the "Pink Car" constantly.

Her tail gets pulled.

Her hair gets pulled.

Her ears get pulled.

And the poor girl can never eat in peace.

Despite all of the torment, Sadie never gets mad.

Sadie makes Aubrey laugh...

And laugh...

And laugh...

And laugh some more!

Sadie's even teaching Aubrey how to crawl...

And how to pull up.

They even love sleeping together.

How cute is that!

Sadie is all I ever wanted in dog and I love her even more now because she loves my baby girl.

Best Friends Forever.

Kutest Kids Contest

So everyone thinks they have the cutest kids right? Of course! And I think mine is the cutest of all :) Here's a few pictures I sent in of Aubrey for the KATV Kutest Kids Contest. Maybe they'll at least show her on tv.

Papaw just thought he wanted a boy!

A few years ago, my father in-law "Mr. Pete" bought me a blue hydrangea for mother's day and told me he wanted a boy. At the time Martin and I were not even thinking about children, but I planted it in front of the house and would smile when I looked at it.

Well low and behold, two years later when baby Whitaker came along, of course she was a girl :) A girl we named after Mr. Pete's Mother, Evelyn Page.

And now I'd say she has Papaw "wrapped around her little finger."

Hi! I'm Aubrey

Hi! My name is Aubrey. I'm 6 months and 6 days old today. Life on a Red Dirt Road began for me on December 16th, 2010. Here's a picture of me on the day I was born, Wasn't I cute :) I weighed 6 pounds & 14 ounces and I was 20 inches long. I'm a whopping 14 pounds now.

We kinda gotta off to a rough start. The night I was born, my poor Daddy got the stomach bug. He was so sick he got sent home from the hospital and my mommy and me had to stay by ourselves. But my Grammy came the next morning.

You haven't seen me on here before now because...well...Mommy and I had a hard time adjusting. You see, I wasn't a great eater, I stayed up all night, and I was kinda fussy. Not to mention that I was born right before Christmas and it was so cold outside! Look what happened TWICE just a few weeks after I was born!!!

Let's just say my mommy about lost her mind, BUT after a few weeks she found it now and things are great!

Now more about me...

I'm still a little "squirt." I've just now graduated to 3-6 month clothing and #2 diapers. I sleep through the night and "rise and shine" around 6:30. Morning is my favorite time of day. Now that Mommy's home for summer, we play all morning. She's really going to be sad in August. I'm eating baby food now and mommy is even making some of it. She's so proud of herself. She feels all "domestic."

My new trick: Sitting up! I'm not great at yet and boy do I get mad when I fall over.

My nickname: "Sugarbooger" Why do my parents call me a sweet name with a gross word in it???

Things I love:

My dog Sadie

My Pink "Car" (Walker) that I use to chase Sadie

Bathtime

My Mommy

And My Daddy of course!

Hope to see you soon!

We've been a little busy

Well here we are. It's been 7 months since my last blog post BUT there's good reason! On December 16th, 2010 at 2:23pm Martin and I welcomed our beautiful baby girl Aubrey Page Whitaker into the world. She weighed 6lbs. 14oz and was 20 inches long. Our lives have forever been changed for the better. Today I took her for 6 month checkup and shots :( She weighed a whopping 14lbs. and was 26 inches longs. She laughs, babbles, "scoots", and melts our hearts everyday.
